ART IN TRANSIT ELEPHANT&CASTLE, LONDON

The Heygate Estate, Elephant and Castle, London (1974 – 2014).

Once home to over 3,000¬†people, built with a ‘Le Corbusier’ effect – To create better-living conditions for urban living, the ex-residents of the Heygate Estate would most likely beg to differ. Once the residents of the Heygate were banished to far-flung parts of the UK, a derelict delight of vast disused aged buildings populated the heart of London and so we went for a lurk around.
